An update from The Fox and Hounds…
We are open Wednesday – Sunday and Closed Monday & Tuesday.
After the recent news regarding the new hospitality restrictions, we wanted to let you all know what we have been doing at The Fox & Hounds in order to make it a safe and happy place for you to visit.
The hospitality industry has made a huge effort in order to re-open since July 2020 and we have all had to make huge adjustments to become Covid-secure. We have had an overwhelmingly positive response to the efforts we have made at The Fox to make it somewhere that you all feel safe and secure and we are so happy about that.
It is important for us to note here that our staff are the backbone of The Fox. We have a wonderful team of people working for us and receive many compliments on what a fabulous team we have. With that being said, all our team members will now have extra responsibilities during their day to day work which they will be required by law to enforce. We ask that all of our customers are respectful and understanding towards the staff during these times. One thing we have learnt over the last few months is that with all the necessary changes we have had to make as a business, it is impossible to please everybody! But we make these decisions with the comfort and safety of our staff and customers at the forefront of our minds. During this uncertain period, we want to concentrate on being able to offer employment and accommodation to our wonderful team for as long as possible so business decisions are made taking this in to account.
So with this new direction we are going in for the time being, we ask for your patience and co-operation in making these adjustments with us. We have listed a few of the changes below and all of our staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Fox Covid Policies
BOOKINGS & OPENING TIMES.
We are accepting maximum table sizes of 6 people in the garden. If the group is made up of a maximum of 2 households then this number can stretch to 8. This includes babies. This same rule will apply for bookings for inside the restaurant from 17th May.
DURING YOUR VISIT
Face coverings must now be worn by all customers and staff while walking through the premises. You do not need to wear them while sitting at your table. This is now a legal requirement and we ask for all customers to adhere to this – staff will request that you wear a face covering if you walk in without one.
We offer table service only in our restaurant and front garden. We can make reservations for our restaurant but tables in the front garden remain first come first served. From the 17th May, if you reserve a table in the restaurant and when you arrive there is a table available in the front garden, you may take this table instead and cancel your restaurant table. We accept dogs in the front garden but not in the restaurant.
The new regulations mean that for people who are on the waiting list for a table in the front garden, you may not go in to the bar to order a drink. People must wait in groups of no more than 6 and make sure they are socially distanced from anyone else in the waiting area.
It is now a requirement by law to provide the contact details for each member of the group over the age of 16 for the Test & Trace system. You can either provide us with your details or scan the NHS QR code. Failure to provide these details will result in us not being able to serve you.
OUR CAR PARK
Our car park remains closed for social distancing measures. Opening the car park would provide 2 extra directions for people to enter from and this would have a consequence on people in our waiting area and people queuing for a table in the front garden. There is free parking available on Bishopsgate road and some of the surrounding roads – with all the new parking restrictions being implemented, this can also get busy so we always recommend leaving time for parking.
All team members completed a ‘return to work’ document before they started back with us after July 4th. The team have all been trained on all the new health and safety protocols implemented to reduce the risk of the spread of Covid-19. We also take the temperatures of all of our staff at the beginning of every shift. Our staff all wear face coverings, wash and sanitise their hands frequently as well as having stringent cleaning and hygiene procedures and we have sanitizing stations situated all around the premises for customer use.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to you all for continuing to make bookings with us and supporting our business during this time. These adjustments have all been made for the benefit of everyone and we hope that with this in mind, we will all be able to get back to some sense of normality in the not too distant future.
